Moeyungyi is easily accessible from Yangon City, and large assemblies of migratory and resident water birds (recorded in 123 species) are accessible to view and photograph. The best time to visit is in the winter (November to April) when most migratory bird species are present. The highlight would be large flocks of Asian Openbill, Painted Stork, Lesser Whistling Duck, Northern Pintail, Purple Swamphen, Cotton Pygmy Goose, Pheasant-tailed and Bronze-winged Jacanas. In addition one may observe the aquatic plant, butterfly, fish and the traditional fishing method of local fishermen.
